Splendid success for art project on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the city of Bocholt!

88 artists from all over the world applied for the international art project OPEN SPACES 800. The deadline was 29 January 2021.

The city of Bocholt received applications not only from Germany and Europe, but also from India, Indonesia and Argentina. Artists from Bocholt’s twin towns also applied for this high-ranking art event.

Jule Wanders, head of the organising department of culture and education of the city of Bocholt, is delighted: “We are totally surprised to have received so many high-quality applications from all over the world. I am completely thrilled!”.

A jury of experts will select 15 ideas/concepts from all the entries in February.

The curator, Verena Winter, shares Jule Wanders’ enthusiasm: “Many great proposals have been submitted, all of which you would like to realise. It will not be easy for the jury to select 15 artists from the entries. Really nice to have received art concepts of such a high standard.”
